The 75,000 sq ft store will trade on two floors and include a restaurant.
Marketplace Barnsley, which is due to open in 2015, will include a cinema, 35 shops and restaurants and a new market hall.
GCW and Jones Lang LaSalle are letting agents on the scheme.
