It plans to open a 62,000 sq ft shop at Land Securities' Ravenside retail park in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The retailer will take the site that housed the recently demolished Focus store and is expected to open in autumn 2012.
Debenhams is also set to anchor Grosvenor's proposed extension to Coopers Square shopping centre in Burton-upon-Trent. It will take 55,000 sq ft on a 25-year lease. Earlier this week, East Staffordshire borough council resolved to grant planning approval for the 110,000 sq ft extension.
Debenhams has also signed for Stanhope's 84,000 sq ft, three-storey anchor store at the Old Market development in Hereford. Debenhams will be joined by a digital multi-screen Odeon cinema, a Waitrose food store and a range of other shops and restaurants at the new 310,000 sq ft leisure and retail development.
