| Following a competitive tender, Debenhams has selected Portview to deliver a £1.2m refurbishment of its store in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.
The project will be completed over a 20-week period, which will see the 90,000sq ft store significantly modernised and upgraded to enhance the customer's buying experience. Portview will refurbish the shop while it continues to trade, working through the night and using hoarding to ensure minimal disruption for shoppers.
The scope of work includes the replacement of flooring on all three levels, decorating, mechanical and electrical upgrades, signage and the installation of new cosmetics areas. The Portview team will manage and co-ordinate the delivery of 10 new counters for 10 different cosmetic brands as well as the installation of new ceramic flooring.
The plans for the enhanced store also include a new 2,500sq ft restaurant and toilets. The existing restaurant will be closed for three weeks during which time Portview will construct the new eatery which includes 150 covers.
The enhancement of the Hanley store is due to finish in October 2012 and is part of Debenhams' wider modernisation programme which is being rolled out to 45 stores across the UK. |
