It is thought his interest centres on bolting a bed brand on to his BHS chain. Sir Philip declined to comment.
Dreams' founder Mike Clare, backed by Apollo Management, is through to the second round, as was Sun European Partners and Royal Bank of Scotland’s private equity arm, according to people familiar with the situation.
First found bids for the chain were submitted a week ago. Ernst & Young received around 30 approaches, of which 10 were taken seriously. All parties declined to comment. |
