The research shows some 16% of shoppers now use supermarkets as "one-stop shops" by purchasing all of their non-food items and food products there.
And around 98% of UK consumers now purchase at least some non-food items such as clothes or electronics from their local supermarket, according to the study.
Some 64% of respondents said they did so for convenience, 51% said they bought non-food products from supermarkets to take advantage of competitive prices, while 27% said they did so to take advantage of rewards and loyalty points. |
