Sales of electrical items grew 63% month-on-month thanks to Black Friday discounts and also the launch of new iPads and iPhones by Apple.
The data revealed that online sales were up 23% year-on-year for retailers operating shops as well as a website, while online-only brands grew sales by just 16%.
However, despite the growth in online sales, a new survey by the ForeSee Experience Index of 10,000 customers, has shown that customers’ satisfaction with online retailers has fallen from 74 to 73. This is the first time since the survey was launched in 2007 that it has recorded a fall.
Amazon remains top of the index with a ranking of 84. It was the only retailer to score above 80, which is considered to represent excellence.
John Lewis, Apple, Marks & Spencer and Asda Direct rounded off the top five, while Ryanair was bottom of the index. |
